What is that ONE elusive thing that is holding you back from reaching Network Marketing Greatness?
You have read countless books on success and how to be successful. You have Googled the author and they are uber successful. Surely the information that author has written in the book is correct, right?
On the way to your 9-5 j.o.b. you have listened to Jim Rohn’s audio CD’s so many times that you can recite them word for word from memory.
You have gone to Eric Worre’s or Ray Higdon’s recruiting seminars.
Hell – you have even changed your entire wardrobe to make yourself “Look” the part!
So by all accounts, you should have reached Network Marketing Greatness months ago, right? But you haven’t. So what gives? Why not?
Why you haven’t reached Network Marketing Greatness
By all accounts – you’ve done what every Guru in the industry is teaching. Well…except this one thing! What is it??
“It” reminds me of a story from my childhood.
I remember being around 10 years old I and wanting to eat eggs every morning! Man, I loved eggs. A couple of scrambled eggs in the morning, with some melted cheese on top with a couple of pieces of bacon, was that magical formula that all but guaranteed I was going to have a great start to the day.
The only problem with loving that magical meal was that I had to wake a sleeping giant to have it made for me. This formidable foe was better known as “Dad”. He was a grumpy old fart in the morning which made me scared to death to wake him up. I was scared to death of just talking to this beastly Giant in the morning let along asking him to make me such a delectable meal.
I remember devising a super smart plan one morning so I would NEVER have to wake him up from his deep slumber again! “I am a genius”, I thought. ”I am going to start making these eggs myself!”
For the next week I continued to wake him up but now while he made my breakfast, I watched intently how he did it. I remember asking him a million questions. I told him proudly that I would be making my own breakfast soon. Every morning I told him that.
And every morning, without fail, He would laugh and say to me, “Son, you are only 10 years old! It is way too hard to do it yourself. It is even a little bit dangerous! You might start a raging fire or even worse, hurt yourself!”
(How many times on your road to Network Marketing Greatness have you had someone tell you how hard it is to do or that you shouldn’t do it out of fear?)
“If the Giant says it is so hard then it MUST BE. Maybe I shouldn’t try!” I thought.
The following Monday morning, I decided that it was time. I was going to do it finally! I was going to make such a meal that the Kings and Queens across the world would fly to my kitchen to eat!! I woke up with such an excitement that it nearly took my breath away.
“This is IT!!” I thought.
I went to the kitchen and grabbed the frying pan that I would cook the eggs in and walked to the stove with such an amazing confidence.
I placed a chair at the front of the stove and climbed onto it. I was all ready to turn the heating element on until I remembered what Dad, the Scary Giant had said to me.
“Son, you are only 10! It is way too hard to do it yourself. It is even a little bit dangerous! You might start a raging fire or even worse, hurt yourself!”
“Oh NO! I don’t want to get hurt or burn the house down.” I thought.
So I took my fear, my fleeting courage, and my excitement, got down from the chair and went to wake up Dad to have him make my breakfast. For the next three days I did the same exact thing. I would wake up, approach the stove, climb the chair, and remember my Dad’s words. I would stop and walk sheepishly to go get my Dad.
I did all of the preparation and I knew how to make the breakfast but was too scared to actually start making it! I couldn’t bring myself to even start reaching for the on/off dial.
Friday came along and I decided, “This is the day! I am going to actually do it this time.”
I did the same morning routine that I had been doing for the last week but this time when I was on the chair, I found the courage to reach out and turn the stove on!
VICTORY!!!! The metal pan started to sizzle as I carefully cracked the egg and carefully dropped it in.
“This isn’t so bad.” I thought.
I finished making my eggs and toast and the feeling of euphoria that I had was amazing. All of that fear and worry was all for nothing it seemed.
I had just realized that the only thing keeping me from making my own breakfast was the action of just doing it! I just needed to take action – to have the courage to START making breakfast.
Starting and Network Marketing Greatness.
Your final goal is not always the big bad scary giant in the room. Most of the time you already know what needs to be done in order to face the task at hand. You have already done the research and learned the best possible ways to finish and attain the end goal.
In network marketing, achieving Network Marketing Greatness is just one decision away. It isn’t the decision to learn more. It isn’t the decision to go to one or two more seminar’s or read 10 more books. The factor that is holding you back is your lack of ACTION! It is the decision to START!
Take what you have learned and like NIKE says, “Just Do It!” You will be amazed at the results you will see!
