Black Hat SEO

Black Hat SEO is under assault.

Anyone that is telling you any differently is living under a rock.

Black Hat SEO is when someone uses unethical and underhanded techniques in order to get higher rankings in search engines. Google is on to it and has been for a while. I don’t use Black Hat SEO techniques. Neither should you. Follow the damn rules. Get results.

The crazy thing about these underhanded techniques is that they weren’t always viewed as bad. They were “okay” to do. But as the old saying goes: “One bad apple spoiled the entire bunch”.  Its a damned shame really. The is always a couple of knuckleheads that mess it up, but I digress.

Google has been going to great lengths lately to really clean-up the search engines of blog networks that are cluttering up their search results. They don’t like BS results. That means that all of those BS blog networks that you have been spinning your articles to, may or may not be valid the next time you go on an article spinning rampage.

What this means for you is simple: If you are using Black Hat SEO in order to get your blog ranked higher in Google, Bing, and other search engines, you are going to have to try harder; or you can be like me and use White Hat SEO techniques. You know, the techniques that are considered to be tried, true and *gasp* trustworthy?

Are you running to check your blog network now? You should be. Here are a list of a couple of networks that I hear have been cut off or affected.

  • ELN
  • Build My Rank
  • Back Link Buddy
  • High PR
  • SEO Nitro

As you can see by the list above, there are quite a few blog networks that have been de-indexed by the almighty Google.

Black Hat SEO sympathizers are going down!

Just kidding – No they aren’t.

I can hear the cheers and the adulation from all White Hat SEO’ers out there.  They are thinking that the good guy has finally won and that the SEO bandits are going to finally go down.

Unfortunately that is not the case.  Where there’s a will, there is a way and  Black Hat SEO isn’t going to go away. There will always be someone out there that is willing to “buck the system” to make it work for their benefit.  I personally have way too much integrity to do it.

That person doesn’t have to be you to get search engine results. You don’t have to stuff the hell out of a key word on you site, put up invisible text (black text on black background), or fake doorway pages.  I will tell you that these Black Hat SEO practices do work but you will get caught and risk your site being banned from the search engines.
